1. Your role
All instructors are self-employed independent contractors. You are responsible for your own tax, national insurance, insurance, and DVSA compliance at all times.
2. Learner agreement
You enter into a separate tuition agreement directly with each learner. You must share your cancellation policy, missed lesson policy and other terms before the first lesson begins.
3. Payment and commission
LIDT charges a commission on all lessons arranged through the platform. You must not quote learners a rate different to the rate agreed with LIDT, or disclose the commission split to learners.
4. Refunds
You must not issue any refund to a learner without prior written approval from LIDT. All learner-facing refunds must be at the full advertised rate.
5. Conduct and compliance
- Display your ADI badge visibly during all lessons.
- Do not use a mobile phone during lessons.
- Confirm the learner holds a valid provisional licence before every lesson.
- Log all lesson hours in the LIDT app after every session.
- Notify LIDT immediately after every test pass or fail.
6. After a test failure
Any rebooking or continued tuition following a test failure must be coordinated through LIDT. Taking a learner privately after a failure without written LIDT approval is a breach of this agreement.
7. Removal from the network
LIDT reserves the right to remove any instructor from the network at any time. Removal does not entitle you to compensation for loss of future earnings.
8. Data and privacy
By joining the LIDT network you consent to your professional details being shared with matched learners. You must keep learner data confidential and delete it once tuition is complete.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
