Intensive Driving Courses with LIDT
Intensive Driving Courses with LIDT help you pass your driving test faster with a tailored, all inclusive course. Whether you are starting from scratch or need a short refresher, we match you with a DVSA-approved instructor and book your practical test so your lessons align with your test date. DVSA's research shows that, on average, learners take around 45 hours of lessons with an instructor plus 22 hours of private practice to pass. This is the benchmark our ADIs work towards when planning your course and helping you progress to test standards.
Why choose LIDT
We secure your practical test first and then build your lesson timetable around it. This prevents long gaps between training and the exam so you stay prepared and test-ready.
Your lessons are taught by DVSA Approved Driving Instructors (ADIs). Packages include lessons, the DVSA test booking and test-day car hire, with courses tailored from 15 to 50 hours depending on your experience. You reserve your place with a deposit and pay the balance before training begins.

- One meeting point per course. No home pick-up. Lessons start from a location near your allocated instructor.
- Erith, Belvedere and Sidcup test centres: Lessons start and end in East London. A tunnel toll may apply. The candidate is responsible for any toll charges.
Register your interest
If you opt to register your interest, we will monitor cancellations and aim to secure your practical test. Once your test is confirmed, we will allocate your instructor and schedule your intensive lessons around the test date.
On test day
- You will have a minimum 2-hour warm-up lesson before your driving test.
- If the outcome is unsuccessful, the DVSA requires a 10-working-day waiting period before another test can be booked. We can assist with rebooking and searching for an earlier date (additional fees apply).
