At LIDT, we’re committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.
This Policy explains when and why we collect personal information about people who visit our website, how we use it, the conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure.

Who are we?
We’re Local Intensive Driver Training, a company specialising in delivering intensive/semi intensive driving courses/driving lessons.

How do we collect information from you?
We obtain information about you when you use our website or download our iOS/Android app.
What type of information is collected from you? Basic personal details including your full name and address (and proof of name and address), email address, telephone number, any other contact details you supply, service information such as ratings information, location data, including your journey start and end points, route taken and average speed. Records of all communications including recordings of phone calls and electronic communications with our staff. Additionally, applies to Full Service Users
Banking details.
Driving licence number.
Date of birth.
Vehicle details.
Data received from background checks related to the partner driving instructor application process. This may include criminal record checks and credit history or bankruptcy checks as required for regulatory purposes.

Content you provide
Some of our products allow you to provide content, such as an image for your LIDT learner/ADI profile or a review (collectively “Contributions”). When providing such content, you acknowledge and agree that all contributions: Are accurate and genuine.
Do not contain illegal or inappropriate material, language, content or context.
Do not contain any personal or identifiable information.

We may use your information to:
To carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into by you and us;
Seek your views or comments on the services we provide;
Notify you of changes to our services;
Send you communications which you have requested and that may be of interest to you. These may include information about campaigns, blog posts and promotions of our associated companies services;
We review our retention periods for personal information on a regular basis. We are legally required to hold some types of information to fulfil our statutory obligations. We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity, or as long as is set out in any relevant contract you hold with us.
We will communicate with you via email/phone/app, we accept no responsibility or liability if you provide an incorrect email address. Unfortunately, you are not able to use LIDT App without a valid email address.
When you sign up to LIDT or any of our other products, you can opt in to agree to being contacted for marketing purposes.
Should you wish to be removed from receiving any of our marketing material, you can opt out any time within the LIDT Learner App >> My account >> Settings - Your data may be used to help improve our products and services.

Who has access to your information?
We will not sell your information to third parties. We will not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Third Party Service Providers working on our behalf: We may pass your information to our third party service providers, agents subcontractors and other associated organisations for the purposes of completing tasks and providing services to you on our behalf.
However, when we use third party service providers, we disclose only the personal information that is necessary to deliver the service and we have a contract in place that requires them to keep your information secure and not to use it for their own direct marketing purposes. Please be reassured that we will not release your information to third parties beyond LIDT for them to use for their own direct marketing purposes, unless you have requested us to do so, or where we are required to do so by law, for example, by a court order or for the purposes of prevention of fraud or other crime.

Third party services
LIDT may, from time to time, present a selection of third party services which may include offers and promotions within the in-app marketplace or elsewhere.
These third party services may have their own terms and conditions of use and privacy policies. Your use of these third party services will be governed by and subject to such terms and conditions and privacy policies. You understand and agree that LIDT does not endorse and is not responsible or liable for the behaviour, features, or content of any third party services or for any transaction you may enter into with the provider of any such third party services. LIDT reserves the right to withdraw third party services and offers at any time without providing notice.

Your choices
You have a choice about whether or not you wish to receive information from us. If you do not want to receive direct marketing communications from us, about us, our services, and promotions, then you can select your choices by ticking the relevant boxes situated on the form on which we collect your information.
We will not contact you for marketing purposes by email, phone or text message unless you have given your prior consent. We will not contact you for marketing purposes by post if you have indicated that you do not wish to be contacted. How you can access and update your information
The accuracy of your information is important to us. We’re working on ways to make it easier for you to review and correct the information that we hold about you. You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you (we may charge £10 for information requests) to cover our costs in providing you with details of the information we hold about you.
Security precautions in place to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of your information
Non-sensitive details (your email address etc.) are transmitted normally over the Internet, and this can never be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your information, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems.

Profiling
We may analyse your personal information to create a profile of your interests and preferences so that we can contact you with information relevant to you. We may make use of additional information about you when it is available from external sources to help us do this effectively. We may also use your personal information to detect and reduce fraud and credit risk.

Google Analytics
Google Analytics uses traffic log cookies to gain information about the use that is made of pages on our website. We use the information from cookies to generate reports on the usage of our website which are used for evaluation and analysis. The purpose is to improve our website by tailoring it to the needs of users. No data specific to any identifiable user is retained.

Retention of data

Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, for example by encrypting our outgoing email communications, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our website; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.

Where we store your information
We transfer, use and/or store your personal information inside of the European Economic Area (“EEA”) and the laws of these destination countries offer the standard of protection for personal information. Transfers to our third party service providers are to enable them to use and store your personal information on our behalf. We will, however, put in place appropriate security procedures in order to protect your personal information. Third Party Providers
We will not disclose your personal information to third parties except as detailed in this Privacy Policy. LIDT will act as a Joint Controller with our Partner Driving Instructors relating to the exchange of personal learner data in order to carry out our contractual obligations. This information will be transmitted securely via our app. Where necessary, we may share your personal data with the following third parties:
Software providers;
Web analytics providers;
Cloud computing providers;
Payment processing and accounting providers;
Email providers;
Telephone providers;
Marketing providers;
Social media providers;
Law enforcement agencies and regulators, government departments or competent authorities of the UK or of other countries; and
