LIDT – Fast Track Test Registration

Register for a Fast Track Test

Join the queue for an early DVSA test appointment at your chosen centre(s).
Candidate details
Exactly 16 characters (letters & numbers only).
This must match your DVSA driving licence record.
Latest test date cannot be earlier than the earliest test date.
For most London test centres it’s very difficult to find an earlier test within 2 months. Please allow at least a 4-month window for your best chance at securing a test. Any early test in London will be prioritised for our Intensive Course students.
Please note: We cannot keep you on the waitlist without a valid theory pass certificate. You will need to pass your theory test before we can find you a fast-track practical test.
Enter the 9-digit number from your theory certificate. If you do not have it at hand, enter 000000000.
Please enter your 9-digit theory pass number (numbers only).
Your theory test expiry is quite soon. We’ll do our best to find you a suitable test before it expires, but this can be very difficult at busy London centres. If we can’t find a date in time, you may need to retake your theory. Once you have a new pass, please email us your updated expiry date so we can prioritise you correctly.
We can’t book a test after your theory expiry date. Please change your Latest test date so it is on or before your theory expiry.
Please note: we cannot book tests when you have an existing booking, and cannot keep you on our waitlist. However, if you provide us your current test details, you give us permission to cancel it if an earlier test is made available. We will cancel your existing booking at the point of booking your test. Please note, we prioritise candidates without an existing booking as there is only a 15-minute window to book tests, and we may not have time to find your booking and cancel it in time. If we do cancel it, your current DVSA test fee will be refunded back to the original payment card. If your current test is booked by LIDT, refrain from registering and instead email us for further assistance.
If your licence has ever been revoked, the DVSA will place a block on it to prevent online test bookings.

To enable us to book your test, please call the DVSA on 0300 200 1122 and request that the block be removed. This process usually takes up to 72 hours.

You can confirm when the block has been lifted by visiting gov.uk/book-driving-test. If you are able to enter your licence details and proceed, the block has been successfully removed.

Please note: the DVSA automatically re-applies the block after 30 days. If we have not secured a test by then, you will need to call again to lift it.
The DVSA does not allow us to book tests for candidates who have already passed in an automatic vehicle.

This means we cannot assist you in securing or managing a test appointment. The only way to book a test in this situation is by calling the DVSA directly.

If you are able to book a test yourself, please note that we cannot manage it for you through our system. This means it will not be eligible for swaps or access to our pool of test dates.

However, if you have already secured a test and only need support with lessons and an instructor, please email us and we will be happy to help.
We do not book extended driving tests as demand is very low, and candidates are usually able to secure a booking themselves.

Please note that extended tests cost more and take longer to complete, so our standard course fees do not apply.

If you have already booked an extended test and only need support with lessons or a test car, please email us to see if we can assist.

How the Fast Track Waitlist Works & Pricing

When you submit this registration form, you are placed on our Fast Track waiting list. We will actively search for DVSA driving test appointments that match your selected date range and preferred test centres.

  • If we find a suitable test, we will email you a quotation.
  • You are not obliged to accept the quotation.
  • If you decline, you remain on the waiting list for future offers.

Pricing overview

The total cost for a booked test starts from £140.00. Prices are not fixed and can change depending on the test centre, the test date and time, how soon the test is, and how busy that test centre is at the time.

Some test centres are more in demand than others, especially at short notice. To reflect this, we group test centres into bands A, B, and C.

At a high-demand test centre, a test booked around six months in advance may be priced closer to £140.00. The same high-demand centre with a test available in around two weeks may cost closer to £240.00 due to limited availability. At a lower-demand test centre, even a test available within two weeks may still be priced closer to £140.00.

What makes up the price

  • DVSA test fee: £62.00
  • DVSA weekend or bank holiday surcharge: £13.00 (if applicable)
  • LIDT admin fee: from £73.00
  • Card transaction fee: 3.5% of the total payment (this fee is non-refundable)

A quotation will be provided once your test has been reserved, a notification has been sent, and you confirm that you would like to proceed with the test. The final price is determined by the test centre, date, and time of the appointment. Prices start from the breakdown listed above.

Fast Track Registration — Terms and Conditions

  1. Scope
    • This registration allows LIDT to search for an early DVSA practical test that matches your preferred centre and date range.
    • Registration is not a booking and no payment is taken at this stage.
  2. How it works
    • You submit your details and choose earliest and latest dates and preferred test centres.
    • If we find a suitable test, we book it and email you the offer.
    • You have 24 hours to reply and pay to keep the booking. If not, the test may be cancelled or reallocated.
  3. Consent to manage bookings
    • By registering, you authorise LIDT to search for and book DVSA tests on your behalf.
    • If you wish to cancel or change your test after it has been booked and paid for, please refer to the cancellation and changing your test sections of the full Terms and Conditions.
    • Do not cancel or change your test directly with the DVSA without contacting us first. If you do, the administration fee and transaction fee are non-refundable. DVSA fee will be subject to DVSA refund policy
  4. DVSA rules and deadlines
    • DVSA allows changes or cancellations only up to 10 full working days before the test date.
    • After this deadline, DVSA does not allow changes or refunds.
  5. Accuracy and eligibility
    • You must provide accurate details including the first 16 characters of your provisional licence number.
    • You must hold a valid theory pass when a test is booked.
    • Incorrect information can prevent booking or lead to removal from the waitlist.
  6. Liability & test cancellations
    • LIDT will only cancel an existing DVSA booking where you have provided permission to do so and where we are securing you an earlier or more suitable test.
    • We will not cancel a booking without your permission. You may withdraw consent at any time by emailing us before a cancellation has been processed.
    • The LIDT administration fee and transaction fee are non-refundable under all circumstances. Only the DVSA fee is refundable, subject to the conditions outlined in the full Terms and Conditions.
    • If you share your DVSA details with multiple providers, they may also attempt to manage your booking. LIDT cannot be held responsible for cancellations or changes made by third parties.
    • We strongly recommend keeping your booking details secure and working with one provider at a time.
    • When LIDT secures a test on your behalf, you will be notified and offered the booking. By accepting and making payment, you confirm that the booking was secured by LIDT and agree to the associated fees and terms.
    • If a third party cancels, changes, or otherwise interferes with a booking that was secured by LIDT, you remain financially responsible for any fees incurred as a result of that interference, including the loss of the test booking.
    • LIDT will not be held responsible for any financial loss arising from changes made to a booking by a third party after the test has been secured and offered to you.
    • If you place a security block or password on your DVSA booking after a test has been secured by LIDT, you remain bound by our full terms and conditions and all associated payment obligations. Placing a block does not constitute a cancellation and does not entitle you to a refund of any fees.
    • To protect your booking, you are strongly advised not to share your DVSA login details, licence number, or theory pass number with any other provider once you have registered with LIDT.
  7. Binding terms after payment
  8. GDPR compliance notice
    • We process your data to search for, secure and manage DVSA test appointments and to communicate with you.
    • Data is handled under UK GDPR, our Privacy Policy and these Terms and Conditions.
    • We share data only as necessary with DVSA through their booking systems and, if applicable later, with an instructor you engage. We do not share with other third parties unless required by law.

    Why we collect each item

    • Full name - identity and communication, and to confirm we are booking for the correct person.
    • Email - primary contact method and used to register your DVSA booking so changes and results can be sent directly to you.
    • Contact number - used if we cannot reach you by email or an email was entered incorrectly, and for urgent offers where we may have a 15 minute window to secure tests.
    • Provisional licence number - essential to book a DVSA test. If not provided accurately, we will not book your test and may remove you from the waitlist. Please check your licence details carefully.
    • Theory pass number - used if we need to manage an existing DVSA booking for you.
    • Theory expiry date - helps us prioritise your search and assess urgency, and may result in removal from the waitlist when the theory expires.
    • Your current test details - allows us to judge whether a cancellation or swap is worthwhile without accessing your DVSA record unnecessarily.
    • Your DVSA test reference number - helps us cancel or manage your booking when needed and when you instruct us.
Please note: We will try to book your driving test within the date range and preferred test centres you select. If nothing is available, we will aim to book the closest possible date at one of your preferred centres. Due to long DVSA waiting times, it may not always be possible to secure a test within a few weeks.
